#Wolfpackwomen is a movement of women who are working to change the perception of women by women. #Wolfpackwomen aims to shift culture so we live in a world in which women naturally support other women. For full details read Wolfpack Women. The following is a list of actions which you can take to support the #Wolpackwomen movement:
1: Using the tag #Wolfpackwomen Post up a positive comment about the women in your life for 10 days on your social media channels. The more personal the better. For example, post up a comment about why your mother is amazing. Or post up a comment as to why one of your friends is amazing or a female colleague or even a neighbor or a woman you admire. Going through this process everyday for 10 days will reinforce positive thinking towards women and hopefully encourage other women to do the same. Eventually creating a positive change in the perception women have about women.
2: Stop all negative comments
or thoughts about the women around you: So, spend a few days consciously
aware of how you treat and think about other women around you. Do you look at
them in a negative light? Do you feel threatened by them? Do you not like them?
Is there a woman that you are not very nice to because of the way they behave?
If you can answer yes to any of these questions really ask yourself why? Why do
I not like these women, why do I feel threatened and so on. Then change your perception
of the women around you for one day. Work hard to see all other women around you
in a positive light. Look for the positives of each women, look for their vulnerabilities
and try and think compassionately about them to understand why they might behave
in a certain way. Make one positive comment about other women in your office
and if possible, make it towards the women who affect you the most negatively.
Work hard to change your perception of the women around you as it will change
your life.
3: Spend the day verbally
supporting and encouraging women around you: Tell other women they have
done a great job. Stand up for a women in a meeting or situation she has been treated
unfairly. Make at least one positive comment towards another women in your office
today (it could be as simple as you look great today). Try and infuse this into
your everyday working life.
4: Promote this new
way of thinking to other women around you: If you hear another women put
another women down stop her and help her to see the impacts this negativity can
have on all women. Try and explain the importance of being supportive to other women
and ending this negative woman against women cultural norm. This can be difficult
to do however if you teach by doing it makes it a lot easier. So, for example
you could just say ‘I am trying this experiment in which I am not saying or
thinking anything negative about other women for a week’. Notice the reaction
and support and great conversations which arise from this.
5: Start your own #Wolfpackwomen club or coffee morning: As part of the process I started a #Wolfpackwomens group in my local area. It was a simple process which started with a what’s App group of women which progressed to a regular coffee morning and lunches, nights and days out in which we all support each other and talk about our lives. It’s been a lifeline in so many situations as we have been able to support each other through some very rough times. But you would also be amazed at the power of a women’s group. If I need a recommendation for a good builder, I post it up on the group and within seconds I have 5 names of individuals. If I need a contact number for a new client or project, I am working on again I post it up and I get supportive messages, ideas and information. It’s a powerful network of amazing minds and its growing everyday as new women join the group. Its incredible what women can do when they join together and realize how amazing they all are.
So change your life today and join and support the #Wolfpackwomen revolution. You will be amazed at the results these simple 5 actions can make on your life.
