We are now offering Creative Listening and Interpretation Workshops at our studio and at the offices of our clients.
Join us at our next workshop in our studio on Saturday, 25 February.
The way we listen and interpret information has a huge impact on job effectiveness and on professional and personal relationships and this hands-on workshop will emphasize the practical skills of visual note-taking. You will learn how to capture concepts and ideas in a creative way that will allow you to process information more deeply and help you communicate to others in a more effective way.
This is a full day workshop in which we’ll examine how language works and what to listen for, followed by a practical session on how to take notes in a visual way.
10:15 Note-taking – the variations of note-taking
11:00 Discourse Analysis – the cultural differences in communication and discussion of communication theories like the iceberg theory and the assumption pool theory
11:45 Pictures – how visuals work and the literal and conceptual ways of interpreting a problem
1230 Listening – the significance of paying attention and how language choices and sentence structure affect meaning and manipulate understanding
14:00 Visual Minutes – an exploration of handwriting and lettering styles and the opportunity to create a mural and put into practice the lessons taught during the day
16:30 Closing Remarks
