We’ve picked out our CreativeConnection 2016 Animation Highlights to show you all the exciting things we’ve been working on this year!
The Worldwide Tribe: Zeinah’s Stroy
This is our most recent project and one that we are truly proud of. In 2016 we decided that as a company we wanted to support organisations and causes that we really care about by offering our expertise in animation, design, marketing and illustration to help raise awareness of their cause. The Worldwide Tribe was one of the organisations we approached and luckily for us they were also keen on using animation to tell some of the stories they hear on the ground.
For this campaign we created two animations, a landing page and additional GIFs and micro-videos to act as teasers to the main launch day which was on Human Rights Day, 10th December 2016. This whole campaign has been very special to everyone involved and we hope that you feel the same, especially with everything that is happening in Aleppo at the moment, but also around the world.
The Worldwide Tribe: Yaman’s Story
Royal Trinity Hospice
This was a another special one to work on and when you watch it you’ll know why. The visuals are beautiful and the story is so emotional. The use of multiple voice overs in this really brings the whole thing to life and makes you feel as though you are part of that family. This animation was nominated for a Charity Film Award and we can see why!
We’ve developed a wonderful relationship with the Orbis team and have created a number of internal animations for them. The Obis Visions for Health System Strengthening animation has been their only public one and its brilliant! The use of tracing paper to depict impaired vision works incredibly well and the whole concept of providing eye care to everyone so that no one is needlessly blind is one that we are so proud to have helped them communicate.
You may remember that we worked on another Genomics England animation last year, introducing the 10,000 Genomes Project. This was so successful that we have now worked on a second one that helps explain to the public and health professionals how they get to their results. The animation is beautiful and very clearly explains everything that reaches both audience groups.
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow
This animation is not only stylistically beautiful and unique, it also tells a very important but often not spoken about message. So many deaths related to pregnancy can be prevented and this animation clearly explains how and why this message is important. We think that the style of the silhouettes really reflects the topic, revealing a misunderstood area to reveal a more positive approach that can help save lives.
Inspired by the Alzheimers Society animation, we created this wonderful storybook animation for Hospice UK to help explain what hospice care really is, something that none of us at CC understood and feel very lucky to have been involved in helping others understand the benefits of hospice care for all ages, and many different illnesses. Again we used multiple voice overs to tell the story of a family using hospice care which really brings to life the story.
Care Quality Commission
This animation was based on a report on children’s health services in England and how children in care are supported. We used a story based on real experiences of young people from a focus group to demonstrate how difficult it can be for looked after children. The story shows that with the right support, young people in care can flourish, however many do not receive this care. Using a case study based on real events really helps to depict the types of situations young people find themselves in and the use of colour, from darker blue tones to brighter more uplifting tones, to show the change in mood of the character works really well. This was another fantastic project to work on.
Earth Day 2016
This was another campaign that we decided to support this year and we had a lot of fun creating it. Environmental sustainability is something that we really care about at CC so we jumped at supporting this important day which celebrates everything environmental. We hope that these small messages give you some idea of how you can make a difference to your environmental impact that you can take with you into 2017 as well.
Where do we start with CBBC? Its been a fantastic year of a Bafta nomination, Great British Bake off cake fights and Rap Battles! We love working with CBBC and always have so much fun getting creative and trying new things. We couldn’t pick our favourites so heres a playlist of them all!
In 2016 we were so lucky to work on these and many other projects, and we are so grateful that so many of our clients are doing things that are positive and make a difference in the world. We are passionate about all of our projects and the work that we do but it makes it that bit more special when you know its helping to make an impact for the best.
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients and supporters of our work, we can’t wait to see what 2017 brings!
